By Tom SadlerIntroducing our latest coaching additions... ONE2ONE BASKETBALL are delighted to announce the addition of Coaches Cat Lutz, Arron MacDonald and Dan Ashby to the ONE2ONE Basketball Family!
Cat Lutz is a professional basketball player and former NCAA Division I athlete who is currently completing a PhD in sport psychology. She brings a wealth of basketball and mental performance knowledge to the team, with a focus on training players and coaches basketball skill development as well as optimal performance mental tools. Dan Ashby is a Level 3 qualified personal trainer who has played and coached in both the EABL and the National League. His main goal is to help individuals accomplish their personal fitness goals and help athletes reach their to physical level. Arron MacDonald is an established coach at local and national league level. With Arron's experience of balancing his basketball with a career in people management and having a young family at home, we've tasked him to work on a few different projects - including building and maintaining our online coaching resources. Coach MacDonald had this to say on the coaching curriculum projects: “You don’t always have time to research new drills or create session plans every week, and it’s all too easy to fall back on the same few drills. That’s why I’m so excited to be working in this role with ONE2ONE BASKETBALL – as in addition to helping players to become more skilled, better team-mates and better leaders, I also get to focus on content creation, giving coaches everywhere access to the drills and sessions that we use to work with our players, at a reasonable price, and giving players who aren’t able to get to Colchester to work with our coaches – or who can’t afford coaches for individual workouts – the ability to purchase those workouts and still work on improving their game in-line with our methods of developing players.” We’ll be releasing the new content over the coming weeks and months – so check back regularly! Director Tom Sadler said: “These three coaches really help us to offer our players something different, and will allow us to help players, teams and coaches to develop in different ways. All three are real students of the game, and their knowledge, work ethic and coaching ability means they're going to be a great fit for us at ONE2ONE BASKETBALL, and I'm excited to work alongside them.” To make sure you don’t miss anything, be sure to follow us on twitter and instagram – and don’t forget, if you sign up for our mailing list you’ll receive a free pre-practice drillbook, with half a dozen drills you can do before any training session to work on footwork, ball-handling and finishing.
